Climate Action

The UN’s summary.

Why we need action

Climate change is now affecting every country on every continent. It is disrupting national economies and affecting lives, costing people, communities and countries dearly today and even more tomorrow.

People are experiencing the significant impacts of climate change, which include changing weather patterns, rising sea level, and more extreme weather events. The greenhouse gas emissions from human activities are driving climate change and continue to rise. They are now at their highest levels in history. Without action, the world’s average surface temperature is projected to rise over the 21st century and is likely to surpass 3 degrees Celsius this century—with some areas of the world expected to warm even more. The poorest and most vulnerable people are being affected the most.

Our actions

Art Tech Rise is at the forefront of innovative philanthropy, merging technology with art to address some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. One of their key initiatives is organizing hackathons that not only bring together the brightest minds in technology and the arts but also focus on causes with significant global impact. Their latest endeavor centers on supporting nonprofits that specialize in carbon capture, a critical technology in the fight against climate change. By harnessing the creativity of artists and the technical expertise of developers, Art Tech Rise aims to generate novel solutions that can be adopted by these nonprofits to enhance their carbon capture efforts.

The hackathon organized by Art Tech Rise serves as a unique platform for collaboration, bringing together a diverse group of participants, including artists, software developers, environmental scientists, and nonprofit leaders. Over a period of several days, these teams work intensively to develop creative and scalable solutions that can help accelerate the adoption and effectiveness of carbon capture technologies. The event encourages participants to think outside the box, merging artistic expression with cutting-edge technology to create solutions that are not only functional but also inspiring and engaging. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that the solutions developed are both innovative and practical, offering nonprofits new tools and strategies to tackle the complex challenges of carbon capture.

In addition to fostering innovation, the hackathon also raises awareness about the importance of carbon capture as a vital component of global climate strategies. By supporting nonprofits in this space, Art Tech Rise not only helps advance the technology but also amplifies the impact of organizations working tirelessly to mitigate the effects of climate change. The outcomes of the hackathon—whether in the form of new software tools, public awareness campaigns, or artistic installations—are designed to be shared widely, promoting broader adoption of carbon capture solutions and inspiring further collaboration between the tech, art, and nonprofit sectors. Through this initiative, Art Tech Rise is making a significant contribution to the global effort to combat climate change while highlighting the power of interdisciplinary collaboration.
